Mr. Ioannis Zografakis has served as Attica Bank’s Chairman from July 2023 until February 2025. Since then, he has been an independent non-executive member of Attica Bank. He has extensive international experience in the banking sector in senior management positions.
He has served as a member of the Bank of Cyprus BoD, as well as Senior Independent Director and Chairman of the Risk Management Committee. He has also served as Chairman of the Ethics Committee, a member of the Audit Committee and a member of the Technology Committee. From September 2013 to March 2021, he served as Chairman of the Audit Committee.
He started his career in 1990 at Citibank in Greece as a Management Associate for Europe, Middle East and Africa region. In 1996 he moved to the US as Director of Finance for CitiMortgage and in 1997, he became Chief Financial Officer of Citigroup Consumer Finance, subsequently assuming the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Consumer Assets Division in the Americas. From 1998 to 2004, he worked at Student Loan Corporation, a subsidiary of Citigroup. In 2005, he returned to Europe as Head of Consumer and Housing Credit for Citibank’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region, and Head of Retail Banking UK. In 2006, he took up the position of General Manager of Retail Banking at Citibank Greece, where he remained until 2011. He has served on the Board of Directors of Student Loan Corporation in the US, Tiresias S.A. in Greece, Diners Club Greece and National Bank of Greece.
Mr. Zografakis studied Civil Engineering (BSc) at Imperial College London and completed his postgraduate studies in Business Administration (MBA) at Carnegie Mellon University in the US.
